This series was written by some midwit trying hard to sound profound. It's like the author just threw out some line he thought sounded good in his head (but akshully bad thing good don't you know? whoa!!!) but doesn't actually make sense in order to sound deep nor does he expand on it cause there was no substance to it other than trying to sound cool in the 1st place. This line doesn't even make sense in the context of the story. Stark is literally stuck in the same place because of his fear and couldn't move forward and needed frieren to put some peer pressure on him so he can find his 'resolve' to actually get shit done.

When you use the phrase "insist upon itself" are telling us more about yourself than about the work you think you are commenting on.

The phrase comes from Seth McFarlane being too stupid to understand what his college professor meant when he said "The Sound of Music insists upon itself". If you've never seen the movie/musical, it's because the main woman just repeats the message of the story over and over and over, while the story never really doing much to demonstrate or challenge that message.

I don't know what Seth McFarlane thought it meant, but apparently something about The Godfather?

I got my normoid sister to watch the show and she dropped it a few episodes in because she hated the "memberberries" flashbacks and the "Ghibli fake feel to it" (her words, not mine)
