Truthfully speaking, this manga has functioned more as a comedy with gags, character arcs, and a sprinkle of romance. I liked it for what it was, but romance was put on the back burner for comfy ecchi and humor. Seo did say the most favored one would win. Akane won the most polls and was the highest average ranking girl. The single chapter resolution feels a bit like a hastily wrapped ribbon on what has been a pretty good series.

I don't believe this is foreshadowing at all. Riho and Shiragiku were paired together on the volume 2 cover and Ouka and Ami were paired together in volume 3 because they have closer friendships with each other within the group. Akane was just put with Sachiko because she was the odd one out.
