Here’s the problem with the naruto sakura shipping thing these two make way more sense narratively. They have so much development over the series. Not only do they have alot of time together being on the same team but they also had a shared goal in bringing Sasuke back.

Well the thing is, he's not a very good writer, anon. He struggles to tell a cohesive story, he struggles to provide his protagonist with believable and relatable motivation following the time skip, and he struggles to wrap his story up in a way that is an any way compelling or fulfilling. I like Naruto. But it's not well-written.

Well I've been rereading Naruto and the First 2 arcs of Shippuden are definitely full of bait and obvious trolling from kishimoto's side. Like he purposefully wrote scenes that in retrospect went nowhere, we have Sakura even blushing for Naruto when she thought he matured ( Sakura literally never blushed to anyone but Sasuke before) meaning Naruto is actually on her radar as a hot guy it's just that his personality was too childish for her liking and you have some other ones like Yamato implying that she loves Naruto etc...

The funny thing about the "it was clear as day" crowd is that, most times, it was never clear in the slightest. It was so unclear in fact that you have to bring up some random sketch art, because you have in the actual story to support it. There's several other shonens that handle romance far better, while keeping it a minor thing in the story (Black Clover, Yu Yu Hakusho, even Boruto for all the faults it has). If Kishimoto could actually write, people would be able to see more clearly that NaruHina was clearly gonna happen. Sadly, NaruHina for basically 90% of the story was anything but developed well. It's like every single possible moment there was for Kishimoto to take an opportunity and actually show us more than a snippet of Naruto and Hinata's growing relationship, he turned right away from that idea. The fact that people are still discussing this and mad about it just shows you how incredibly shitty Kishimoto's writing is.
