In retrospect Big Mom arc was a better example of fighting an army of super humans than Kaido arc, for some reason

Like it's not just an army, it's an army full of people easily as strong as the crew members, you cannot fight them, any drawn out fight is suicide, they will ultimately surround you if you try to fight. All they could do was keep running away in the end. In the end they never even managed to beat any of Big Mom's top guys since trying to fight them was suicide in that situation, aside from Katakuri who Luffy barely managed to get one on one.

You had the giant woman trying to sink the ship from a distance, the guy that could super heat things, like none of Big Mom's generals ever got a real fight since all the strawhats could do was keep running.

The flashback was between ok and mid, but what I really disliked was the stream. Now, for perspective, the radius of Earth is 6440 kilometers. And the OP world is apparently only 40 kilometers in radius! So it's about 20,000 times smaller than Earth in terms of surface area. Circumnavigating this world on a sailing ship would take about three days.

In other words, no amount of ancient weapon usage could have increased the sea levels by that much. Like, it's not physically possible. Increase N above that value and R goes negative.

The most interesting part of Yamato for me has always been her relationship with Kaido and not the whole Oden shtick, which goes completely underexplored in the story.

Yamato's admiration for Oden seem to mirror Luffy's admiration for Roger, the difference is that Luffy centers his admiration on the idea of Roger, aka, being the Pirate King, "the one who's the most free of all" -- Yamato on the other hand obsesses over the individual, which comes across as unhinged and completely unhealthy, it's a rejection of her own insticts. I would find cool if Yamato developed in the conclusion that she doesn't want to literally be Kozuki Oden, she wants to be like Oden -- free and loved by all.

Going back to her relationship with Kaido and Yamato's childhood, it makes sense for Yamato to yearn for that. Kaido projected his own insecurities in his daughter and tried to groom her into his ideal image of what an oni should be like (which is hilariously hypocritical coming from Kaido), and because of that Yamato spent her entire childhood caged and feared by everyone lest they invoke Kaido's wrath.

In general Yamato had the potential to execute best the whole "Monster by nature, good by choice." thing that was repeated with Chopper and Sanji, because Yamato is not human, is absurdly powerful and her father was a genuinely evil man (although not completely), the people of Wano had genuine reason to be distrustful of Yamato, even though she wants their adoration. Almost like the tale of the Red Oni.

Despite being an oldfag, I only decided to check out One Piece when live action TV show came out, staring with said show.
