At least it serves a purpose of showing that the nazis are using magic items without full understanding of the risks. At least the chump middle managers, like suddenly handing a town sheriff a bunch of grenades immediately after they were invented claiming "yeah, they'll totally kill any rowdy criminal" with "you might wanna stand back" as the only warning.

I'm not banking on a comically evil resistance head. More like one that doesn't care for collateral damage. I'm expecting something like one of the resistance mages or even Miramira killing human sympathizers or something out of haste with the justification "they'll be killed and we'll be blamed anyways. It's us or them, now."

Lovi was also a massive enabler and confidant, allowing her to experiment with low-impact magic even more. She probably has a very good grasp on subtle tricks, but is a ways off of COMBing through armies.
