At least for the in universe justification, Boa Hancock is the most beautiful (or tied for most beautiful, if Garp's statement about Shirahoshi is to be believed) woman in the world, so most people wouldn't even care about any possible age gaps. Plus, only a small group of people even know about Hancock's crush on Luffy anyways; 99% of the Marines at Marineford probably think she just lashed out at them out of general malice and not from infatuation with a teenager.

I've been thinking about this for some time. One, you have the incredible focus on Haki, from it being fleshed out to it being the decisive factor in major fights, and its prominence has only grown with Kaido's speech, Joyboy's Haki knot, and most recently Roger/Garp's Haki mass. With this in mind, how would you feel about the twist that "Haki isn't everything"? And in no uncertain terms. Like, Oda straight up deletes it in the biggest fights, and I can think of numerous reasons, like "the fighters have transcended Haki" or whatever. So far, the only things that point towards this are:

My take on it is that the Imu we see is not his/her real self, that one is likely immobile and locked away somewhere. The one we see is just a "projection".
He seems to also possess people as a means of getting around in general. He did it with Gunko and Saturn. It is likely the person we see in the garden is also a possessed person, in that case maybe Lili. The actual Imu might just be a dessicated body somewhere locked away.

Back during Dresrossa Doffy said he needed the immortality surgery to access the "treasure" or secret of Marijeois. It is possible that Imu's true body is locked away somewhere that is difficult to access, so that surgery is one of the prerequisits of gaining access to it.
That's also why it's generally impossible to defeat Imu normally, all you're doing is fighting against it's "shadow", not the real Imu.
