nta, but I got a pair of training pants and they are great. I have tested the absorbancy yet, so i can't speak to that, but in terms of regression factor they are pretty on par with diapers. The padding itself is bulkier than the diaps I usually wear, so when you can't forget it's there and it's there for your protection. And it puts in a confusing state where these are very 'little' garments, but also you're growing up and aren't supposed to have accidents.

In an ideal world where people aren't tagging like they're on youtube or social media to get as many clicks as possible, normally just like how you started out saying you would.
AO3 uses the social media/youtube scattergun approach that makes it hard since, again, they'll use anything even tangentially related. I've seen mental regression and age regression tagged on works that involved neither.
My point is that in a strange environment you might have to do abnormal things to stand out. And sadly, I don't have the answer. I just have a lot of annoyance trying to find the kind of written smut I want.
