For about a week now I've had this weird spot in my peripheral vision. It looks kinda like what you see after looking at a bright light, except it isn't going away. It seems to go away temporarily when I try to look at it.

I'm worried about a stroke, but I don't have any other symptoms. Is there anything else that could explain this? Would a spot in my vision last this long if it was a warning sign of a stroke?

Anon if its in your peripheral vision you shouldn't be able to "look at it", that'd just shift it further into the periphery.
Does it shift with your vision? Or is it some kind of junk outside your eye?
Is it there when your eyes are closed?
Is it in both eyes or just one?

It could be any number of things and you should probably go to an eye doc so they can shine a light in your eye and check for any physical issues.

most likely not a stroke without facial droop or slurring

something could be wrong with a cornea or optic nerve, but honestly it's 14 different problems it could be, inflammation or drinking too much etc. to the point you'd need an opthalmologist to be sure

I guess it might be shifting with my vision because I can never get a clear look at it. Not sure what it is
