>Be me 29
>Get sent on a work trip, 3 states away.
>5 days in, fiancée calls me crying, and says she had a miscarriage.
>Says she was in pain, her mom drove her to the hospital, baby’s gone.
>I’m destroyed.
>Couldn’t leave early, sat in a hotel room staring at the wall.
>Come home, fall apart.
>We were 5 months in.
>I cried for days.
>Couldn't eat.
>Couldn’t function.
>Took time off work.
>Started therapy.
>She seemed sad but bounced back fast.
>I figured people grieve differently.
>Two days ago, she broke down crying.
>Says she has to confess.
>She didn’t have a miscarriage.
>She had an abortion.
>Her mom helped her plan it and drove her to the clinic.
>Said she wasn’t ready.
>Didn’t want to throw away her career.
>Thought lying would be easier for me.
>That I’d “move on” faster.
>I mourned that baby like it had died.
>Blamed myself.
>Nearly lost my mind.
>She watched all of it and said nothing.
>Now she says she regrets it.
>Says she wants to try again.
>Wants a baby now.
>Wants to “start fresh.”

Can you forgive something like that?
