Any NEETs wanna chime in on what constitutes a good use of time? Should I just be homesteading the entire day?

Play every single visual novel that comes your way on steam. That's how I spent my teenage hood (12 through 18) and I turned into a degenerate femcel who is also a hardcore lolicon.

Clannad is the best VN ice played so far, but if you aren't into romance or crying, then an all-rounder is Steins Gate (then again, it can get very scientific if that isn't your cup of tea.)
If you're into shorter games, the Nekopara series is Amanda as long as you like catgirls and don't mind paying extra for the 18+ patch.
Another good game is DDLC if you're comfortable with playing a game who's fandom is littered with retarded 13 year olds just getting into anime.
A slightly newer game is Needy streamer overload if you want some actually gameplay, though the topics are heavy is you're an easily triggered faggot.

I recommend starting with a shorter game, so something like Planetarian might be good, but it all depends on preference at the end of the day.

Who cares about the fandom for anything? Enjoy what you like, don't let other people affect that. The fandom for everything sucks.

Waste 4 years of your life learning Japanese like I am doing. You can adapt most of your hobbies into this if you're the average 4channer and feel like you're doing something productive with your life.

You have went through little busters! ex, right? I enjoyed it just about as much as clannad

Learning Japanese takes effort, I mean something I don't have to go out of my way to do. Something that comes to easily it requires no effort. I am not allowed to operate in domains of resistance for contract reasons.

I was going to give you a heartfelt reply to instead try output for any hobbies you might have like doodling, or smashing notes on a daw, but on second thought that requires just about as much effort as starting Japanese did for me. The only other effortless nonproductive activity that felt like it had value was gaming, but my dopamine receptors finally fried after a decade of that so cannot recommend. Idk, try dream journaling for creativity-memory boosts and a chance at spawning a waifu in lucid dreams.

For me, it was animation. not traditional drawn animation, but computer animation. i don't game anymore, not because duke nukem's "my dopamine receptors are fried from constant pornography use" excuse or whatever, but because i convinced myself its a waste of time, and if i'm going to game, it would have to be one i make myself. so i primarily animate, with a bit of game devving on the side.

Try downloading blender and making some simple abstract shit, before learning rigged humanoid animation. i find it personally very fulfilling to make something, even something only 30 seconds long. its productive. its a respectable skill, too.
