When was the last time you turned on the news? Fucking shit dude, the world is in AWFUL shape right now. And what the fuck is your job, if you're able to raise kids and afford two houses at the same time? I make six figures with no kids, and I couldn't afford a second home.

none of that shit changes the things that actually make happiness. whiskers on kittens, getting raindrops on your face, snuggling up in a cozy blanket. just enjoy what's enjoyable and stop attaching expectations to outcomes

lmao bro. who cares what’s in the news? i’m probably older than you but the news only tries to get views. it will always present what’s out there as hugely important and sensational but in the grand scheme it’s normal. you’re upset because they want you to be upset. think for yourself

i am a software engineer who hit big with 2 successful companies going ipo and making me a couple million. the salary isn’t bad though.

How can you possibly be happy, knowing all the horrible shit going on in the world? There's genocide and war, polar bears are going extinct, summers keep getting hotter, everything is getting more expensive. I live in a country where the government can arrest, rendition, or even kill people for no reason. Does none of that stuff bother you? Even if you're not affected directly, don't you feel bad for the people/animals that ARE affected?
>>33261699
The stuff I mentioned above is NOT normal. And yeah, maybe some of it is sensationalized, but it's still real.

Turn off the news idiot
All of a sudden all that shit will stop affecting you because you don't even know it's happening

Even if I'm not actively watching it, I still know it's happening, so it still affects me emotionally. And some of it is also affecting me physically. I walk several miles every day, but lately it's been getting harder and harder because of the heat. That's not something you can tell me to just "turn off".

nta but the news is designed to make everything sound urgent and momentous when most of the time nothing has happened or it's been a lot worse or a lot better. fact is there has never been a better time to be alive and everyone from CNN and Fox to the local news doesnt want you to know that or feel that.
