To people who lost a large amount of weight in a relatively short period (60lbs+) how did you do it?
Did people treat you different?

I lost about 90lbs relatively quickly, like a year. I did rolling 48hr fasts, then switched to cico @ 1200-1500 calories a day.
I was by no means fit or attractive, but people definitely treated me a little better. Just in every day scenarios, people were a little nicer, a little friendlier, more willing to talk, etc.
I imagine that if I were fit and minmaxxed my appearance, the difference would be quite large.

Granted, I gained most of the weight back, but I also have an eating disorder so… ymmv.

I went to a weight loss clinic last year and dropped about 50 pounds over the course of the year—it was a miserable but ultimately welcome experience. They had me on appetite suppressants and injections, which helped a lot, along with eating cleaner and working out consistently.

Before that, I had my fair share of humiliating experiences, like being ignored—both platonically and romantically.

But that physical transformation also made me stronger mentally. It helped me build confidence and start actually liking who I was. And honestly, it was a nice validation boost to see potential friends and women become more receptive to what I had to say.

Whether that shift in how people treated me was a result of the weight loss itself or the confidence that came with it… hard to say.

I lost 120lbs+. Was 300 at 5'10, then down to 168 at lowest. Currently 190.

>How did I do it
It started with an adderall perscription reducing appetite but I didn't stay on adderall for that long and have lost more weight since being off.

The real answer is EGO and IDENTITY. Read psychocybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.
Essentially the change comes from not accepting the fat version of yourself as you in some way.

>did people treat me differently
Kinda, it's not this brutal black pilling experience people describe. Yes, you're hotter so they'll be nicer but that all ends. Being lean is gay. Being handsome + slightly fat gets you the same treatment, etc.

Overall, slightly but the better improvement came from being more intimidating when dealing with men.

I didn't lose 60lbs, but I did transform my physique from very skinnyfat/chubby to pretty fit, around 175lbs 12% bodyfat at 5'11.

People treat you way differently.

This, it's not just women. Other men will treat you with more respect, they'll always assume you're knowledgeable on certain shit, they'll never make jokes/that kind of light hearted bullying etc... Alot of them just straight up view you as superior and "submit" (I know this shit sounds weird and corny like some sort of anime character but I promise it makes sense to anyone who's gone through this type of change).

One thing that really changed me was training MMA, once I got pretty good at just striking and grappling I was 10x more confident and less anxious because I knew that if shit went downhill/an argument started I could pretty easily beat most men in a fight. It's that same effect that people get when they start carrying guns and feel invincible except it's way more subtle (which I think is good) and it's not predicated on an outside force (weapon) and you always have it.

Yeah lost around that much after I went full catabolic following the COVID gym closures. Was preparing for an amateur bodybuilding competition at that time. People simply stopped acknowledging my existence.

As above me said it’s not some night and day difference unless you were obese

I got very lean doing double practice + lifting daily at training camp for a small school football program. I was getting overt, sexual attention from some women and it seemed to significantly broaden the amount of women who were interested. When I'm not lean and in extremely good shape I almost never get overt sexual passes by strangers and the window of women who are interested is smaller. From men you just get less positivity honestly. For like 4 months following training camp I knew how pretty women live basically.

Lost 220 lbs in 16 months
>Did people treat you different?
Service industry people are way more friendly, you get the door held open for you more often, women find me attractive now but having the confidence to talk to them is doing a lot there too
One little anecdote measuring it I can give is I took up hiking at 260 lbs - walked the same trail three times, got 0 hellos returned at 260, half of them returned at 220, and all of them returned at 190 (still fat but below the average american weight lol)
Yeah it's a big difference
You go from people being repulsed at the sight of you to being neutral or positive. But granted my weight loss was fucking massive. If you're like 35 BMI starting out it's not gonna be that extreme

>how did you do it?
Getting autistic with diet and exercise
<1800 calories >150g protein every day, only breaking for vacation trips a couple times a year (but not going crazy with it)
Walking is really all you need for fat burning when fat, turn it into incline-walking on a treadmill if you wanna maximize it. And lift too, that steep of a calorie deficit will eat muscle mass and you need protein and lifting to not end up a saggy stick-figure at the end. (you'll still sag, but you can have muscle underneath at the end and look a bit better)

I lost 10lbs in one month. I did it by traveling overseas where I could be happier & healthier.
