Wherever I go, I'm always the "third wheel." People only talk to me when there's literally nobody else around, and when I'm in a group setting, I'm completely ignored. Nobody remembers I was even there afterward.
How do I become the main character? I want to be the type of person that people will always pay attention to and respect (when I want them to). I'm really not a boring person, and I try not to be annoying, so I don't know wtf I'm doing wrong.

Be the person who initiates conversations and asks others about themselves. You can't be the person of last resort, if you the mf starting the conversations and choosing the people

You're probably autistic. I used to be just like you but after working a public facing job for 8 years I'm at a point where I can fit in with normies and even make them laugh. Masking is the most powerful skill you can ever learn.
