I hats going to the barber. I'll wait like 6-8 months just to avoid sitting in a barber seat listening to them talk about shit. How did you get over this irrational avoidance? I plan on making it a goal to get a haircut once a month in Q3.

Cut your own hair.
Buzzcut it.
Good luck managing your level 2 autism, anon.

just start cutting it yourself. i did for this same reason. at first my haircuts sucked but after 7 years or so i now give myself better haircuts that i would at 90% of barbers

Tell your barber you would like them to be silent while cutting your hair. If you absolutely must have a reason tell them you have a mental illness of your choosing or that you've recently experienced a traumatic event.
If that's too hard then do a trial and error approach at barber shops (avoid salons and obvious hipster shitshacks) or get a low maintenance haircut. Cheap chain barber shops like the ones in the mall will often have less talkative barbers that won't fuck up a simple low maintenance cut.

Doesn't that make it hard to cut your hair?

find a cute barber who presses her boobs on your face when she washes your hair

OPs making this up, they don't do that. I have personal experience that they rest their boobs on your shoulder when trimming from behind and give you the cleavage view when trimming from the front, thats how its done IRL.

>just to avoid sitting in a barber seat
For me it was a convenience thing and during and post covid it became a new habit to cut my own hair.
Note that buzzing off with a #3 guard will not look that good, but it won't look that bad and it will absolutely look better than waiting 8 months between cuts.
I don't have the patience or spare time to wait an hour for the walk in hair cut and I have a hard time with appointments justifying paying someone $50 to use a $25 hair trimmer the same way I would.
That said if OPs only problem is conversation, try to find a place that blasts music or sports on TV and nobody talks at those places.

Ha, funny. You know, in Japanese, a barber ri-hats-u. Let it grow while it still can.

Don't buzzcut you will most likely look retarded but do cut your own hair OP. It will take a few years until you get it right though.

Barbershops are inherently anti-autism because to sit in a chair and let another man touch your head and chin while cutting your hair requires a high degree of insensitivity that mostly neurotypical people have.

This. Literally this. I cut my own hair. Bought a $60 hair trimmer like 5 years ago. Haven't been to a barber since.

Buzz cuts are extremely easy to, and you can always find tutorials if you want something else.

Ask them please not to talk. They won't mind.

strongly disagree. i appreciate the light touch and warm fingertips of my Latino barber and i am fully autistic. the hot towel shave and subtle mastery of the shavette that close to your throat and face is intoxicating
