Does anyone work in healthcare who can tell me what it's like? I got a hospital job doing basic cleanup and have no idea what to expect. If it works out I'm considering a carese in the field. What do I need to know? How is the work culture?

all the screaming and impatience of the customers at a McDonald's job, except now they can get drugs, weapons or crippled hostages at a moments notice

Jokes aside it's not just getting to help the needy but spending every day with people at the lowest point in there lives.

What does that entail though? I haven't started yet, but the people I did see in scrubs all looked grumpy and burnt out. I won't be doing anything so important though. Just housekeeping and prep. I think I'm supposed to act like I'm not there if I'm just cleaning rooms and leave people to themselves, right?

get ready to watch people die, dignified people shit themselves every few hours. artists go blind, musicians go delf.
the best example is vet tecs who think they are helping pets but end up euthanizing family pets daily. shit sucks, you have to be ready for the shit its not all helping the blind see.

You are not working in healthcare. You are a janitor.
