Am I an asshole for being pissed and breaking up with my gf who wants to go on a hiking trip / mini road trip with a male friend she just met? She said she planned to go on this with this guy and that it’s “controlling” that I think it’s not something she should be doing if she was in a relationship. I just assumed it was over and stopped talking to her. She said it was just a “non romantic trip with a friend riding on his motorcycle with him and setting up camp at night.” I think what really showed me it was bullshit is the guy only has one small single person tent. She didn’t really see a problem with it. I’m not her fuckin boyfriend anymore, obviously. But she makes me feel like I’m an insane controlling piece of shit.

There are some things you can talk over and resolve, but there are also some things that clearly communicate that she is not fit to be your future wife. A good woman would never even suggest something like this. Even if she went back on it, you would never be able to fully trust her again. I would also break up with immediately and probably cut all contact.
