When i was volunteering i met a homeless lady who was sobbing. She went
>ahh kill me kill me kill me kill me
>please kill me you are jesus christ you are jesus christ i want to die
And then later someone actually killed her. Is that suspicious? What should I do?
One time I was volunteering and there was a homeless lady also doing it. Usually we are allowed to take food for ourselves if we ask. Since a lot of food gets donated either close to or after expiration, it didn't matter if the volunteers had some.
Cue said homeless lady. She had next to nothing. She would ask for food and the powers that be agreed, but as soon as she left the room, they would say the most disgusting things about her.
Meanwhile i'm sitting there like wtf is the point of being here doing this, if we are not here to help the people that need it with respect.
Places where you can volunteer like that, also house some of the worst people. But also consider that for a lot of people, regardless of homeless or not, have a history.
I don't think her getting murdered was sus by way of the volunteering. Some people just get caught up in shit situations.
As for the 'trauma' of it. I can't relate, someone died while I was performing CPR. They died from a drug overdose. I don't feel anything. I did what I could, but ultimately, the choice was theirs. Death happens all the time.
