My simulation game of choice is Rimworld. In that, I set priorities for people and they mostly handle themselves. When there's a crisis, like if enemies are attacking, or if I need something prioritized, that's when I step in. It's just frustrating in the Sims to have to step in for comparatively minor things like "get the Sim to wake up for work" or "tell the Sim to use the bathroom". Like that should be the kind of thing they do on their own. But I don't know what crises there could be for a real-life sim like that for me to step in and handle.
