I want a cat but they seem like real dirty animals, I know they clean themselves but they shit in little boxes that need to be cleaned daily and drag litter everywhere, is there a small animal I could get that's just as cute?

Hamsters and so on are cute, but also extremely boring. You might possibly consider a rat - they're surprisingly intelligent, and you can teach them tricks. A ferret would also be a good choice: you need to research how to look after them, because some of it's not obvious, but they can be house trained.

I won't read the problems of being a shut-in. Go outside.

Litter box is simple to clean, just vacuum if sand gets out

Do more research if you are interested in getting one

Cats are literaly the cleanest pet. They are even potty trained at birth. They bathe whenever they can.

Cat ladies don't fucking clean thier house and have like 30 cats. That's not the cats fault.

What fucking pet will be easier?
Any cage pet STILL NEEDS TO SHIT, and it will be IN THIER CAGE. Fish literaly swim in thier shit and you can't PET them.

Any pets will dirty your house one way or another. If you can't deal with it then a pet is not for you.

If you think litter is bad wait until everything you own is covered in cat fur.

If youre going to have a pet you just have to accept you will need to regularly clean their shit, and they will make your living space filthier and smellier than it would be otherwise. Even with extroadinary effort to keep your pet clean like washing it frequently and cleaning its litter box or enclosure daily this issue can't be eliminated entirely. You just have to either accept it or not have a pet

Something like a rabbit or hamster won't jump up and walk all over your kitchen counter and tables after having a shit and digging around in its own filth

Rabbits and hamsters stink from 20 feet away, you won't smell the cat or cat litter it's literaly engineered to absorb smell, and cats don't want to be harassed so they don't go where you will smack them.
