And you've chosen too many high dopamine activities you have to limit abd block distractions.
Phone, 4chan, fb, tik tok.. cut these out, and you'll find lower stimulating activities are far more engaging.
Man I don't know how old you are but im making an assumption youre younger. I feel terribly for ADHD people.who grew up in this environment.
I used to read books, make music, video edit, animate.. all these things youre complaining you cant and this flow state you say you don't have, I could do. Then I got a phone, and that was all down the fucning toilet for years. But at least I knew what the problem was.
Theres a bunch of adhd kids now who grew up with all this shit and never built that baseline now all sitting there thinking "oh this doesnt give me dopamine" not understanding that yes, it does, but scrolling on 4chan provides 20 times more, and if you do it too much your brain Will restructure and all that low impact shit is gonna be boring. Thats just how your brain works.
Thing is, if works both ways. You eliminate or seriously isolate all these high stimulating apps and activities to specific times of day (or better yet, none at all) and your brain will down regulate, it will take less dopamine to stimulate, and then these lower activities like drawing and whatever other project youre working on suddenly become a lot more engaging.
Like #1 adhd coping technique: you have to actually understand the neurology here. You DO get dopamine from EVERYTHING you do. If you had zero dopamine, tou wouldn't even leave bed. Its the motivator. It makes you do everything you do. Its making you *want* to draw even. But the supply is so much louder from your fucking phone and pc so you've got blinders on. And it IS reversible.
Your goals shouldn't be "draw more" it should be "use 4chan less" and the rest comes.
