I've been applying to jobs on Indeed with no success for the past three weeks, but got a direct job offer for a position I never applied to.
It is a position as a baker on a farm. Now I've worked in bakery chains before where the dough is pre-formed/frozen or even pre-baked.
>My first question is: For anyone with experience, as some who's baked and topped pastries before, how hard would it be to transition to making pastries/pies from scratch?

Second question is on the potential legitimacy of the job offer. They didn't give an address at first. They provided a location after asking and are now asking to take the conversation to email.
If this is some sort of phishing scam I really don't want them to have my email to spam. Their responses are made by Myriadsystems.ai and they use an optonline.net email, which is apparently an optimum provided email service. When I look up myriad systems it is says it is a business dedicated to health, medicine, and patient care.
>Has anyone else been scammed on indeed? Does this sound like a scam? I want to visit the farm, but it's closed until the Fall season. The job description seemed like it was written by an english speaker, but it could just be AI and the farm is near where I live. If anything else I plan to continue the talk and schedule an interview directly on indeed.

Seems like they offered you a job because of your previous work experience. Unless they request money from you in order to get some sort of training or whatever I don't see how it's a scam.

Seconding, this is the main thing to watch out for. As for the job itself i say give it a shot, and they should train you for anything you dont know how to do.

Ive heard this is the scam sometimes. They lock you in for multiple years at an abysmal pay rate and if you leave they sue for cost of training

I'm just worried they'll ask for phone number or for me to fill out some employment form before meeting.
The email on the website for the farm is different and the responses I'm getting are from "HR" so they may have outsourced hiring, but it's nerve wracking. I plan on asking to set up an in person interview, but I don't know when my car will be out of the shop.

They are offering to train, but I believe it'll be shadowing rather than a course and it's seasonal work for the holiday season.

If the company exists, it has an online presence somewhere. Find their website and write to it to confirm the offer is legit.
