In my country we have this obligated car check every couple of years and it's illegal to use the car on street if you miss the deadline. You'll get a fine and your car can be banned from circulation.

When I did this check with my car (my father bought it for me so it's on his name legally) it had some problems and I got the "repeat the check before a month passes".
Standing by law I had a month to repair the car and do the check again. The car could be used on the streets only after the reparations but the mechanic told me that I could use the car anyway for going to work since I have no other way to travel to it. He just said "if the police stop you just say that you're going to the repair shop."

Now there's the problem:
I actually used the car for going to work for two weeks before doing the repairs and the damned checkup. The police never stopped me.
But we have numerous cameras for traffic control and some of that can emit fine automatically.
I tried to search online about my situation (the "you have a month" thing) to see if I could be eligible for the fine from a camera and I can't find nothing. Just articles about what happens when the checkup is expired. Nothing else. Mine wasn't expired but only suspended for a month. I don't know if it's the same thing.

Now my father received a notice from the postal office that there's an important letter for him. Probably it's a fine. If there's one there will be others. I will know what is it tomorrow or Saturday.

I can't afford to pay anything else apart from rent and food since my bank account is in the red.
I don't know what to do since I work 8-5 Monday-Friday and I don't have time for another job.
I'm scared. My situation is unstable and the relationship with my father is unstable too.

I need help.

Short-term, keep driving the car and make the repairs later. You don't even know if the letter to your father is a fine.

Also, transfer the car into your name so this doesn't happen again.

as a previous commenter said, keep driving it while working toward repairs. Then the only real solution in the case that the letter is a fine is to work your ass off getting as much money as possible until you can pay your father back for the fine, or, if your country's legal system has a way to prove that you are responsible for violating the law and not him, if you want you can assume responsibility and pay it yourself. But I wouldn't consider that immediately. After you have paid everything off and are out of the woods, open a savings account and spend maybe three to six months spending as little money as possible and putting as much of your income as possible into that account to start an emergency fund so that in the future you can be prepared for large financial losses. it will be a lot of hard work and you will be eating sardines and rice for dinner for a while, but your financial security is worth all that boredom when other people rely on it. Unless you live in a shithole country where there is no minimum wage, you should end up being all set.
