What's worse, a 30+ year old trying to cling to and recreate the past or a 30+ year old who tries to fit in with the youth culture of the current generation?
fitting in with culture you're not a part of. stick to your stuff, if you do it well, it's still cool as a look back at that part of history even when you get old

>>33399014 (OP) Trying to fit in with the youth. I recently saw a guy in his 60s wearing a hoodie, snapback, and basketball shorts hanging out with some college aged people. It felt extremely weird and he stuck out like a sore thumb the entire time.
>>33399014 (OP) >What's worse, a 30+ year old trying to cling to and recreate the past or a 30+ year old who tries to fit in with the youth culture of the current generation Clinging to the past. If you succeed at integrating with children then you have new friends, and possibly sex if your ethics are loose. If you attach yourself to the past then you get nothing.
>>33399058 Instead of watching cartoon network watch MeTv... Instead of listening to metalcore listen to folk rock... Instead of reading manga read Kerouac...
>>33399981 i know a guy like this, heโs almost 30 and plays video games all day and vapes and has no common sense when it comes to relationships. constantly picking shitty abusive bpd women, i think he likes the โthrillโ of dysfunctional relationships or something. 90% of his brain is full of video game lore knowledge.
itโs kinda sad man. heโs clearly trying to relive an experience he misses or never got to have.

If you're still rockin out like it's 2002, you at least have that retro vibe going on, with zoomer girls asking you what it was like to see Deftones in their prime.

>>33399981 I've seen that vid and the guy does not look 17. he looks like a 36 year old dressed like a 17 year old. look at the wrinkles, and his 'old man' walking gait.

>>33399014 (OP) Those are just two forms of the exact same disorder.
i guess im somehow exempt since i grew up online and im self sufficient now? who cares as long as you're happy. who are you to make fun of someone for wanting to, what, belong? everyone who does this isn't a stereotype so no need to act like it just because its how you prefer to look at it.
if someones having identity struggles, or going through a crisis personally im the kind of person who doesnt let that stop me getting to know someone if i think they might be worth knowing to begin with, and thats also something i dont need to prove to anyone in order to be comfortable with it. at this point im a little bit past my shitting on weak people stage. i think going through an identity crisis in life is not incredibly uncommon actually

>>33399014 (OP) I have nothing to go back to, and I have never tried to fit in with the 'culture' of any generation. I didn't inherit a culture, so all I have to cultivate is personality, and even that's pretty sparse.

>>33399014 (OP) >What's worse, a 30+ year old trying to cling to and recreate the past He will look sophisticated in a twisted sense and unironically cool towards younger gens who might be into retro shit >30+ year old who tries to fit in with the youth culture of the current generation? Think of the deadbeats who tried to hang out with people your age when you were a teen. That's how they would look like.
