Help me not to fall of the wagon
I've been sober for a couple of months now.
But today was one of those days where everything was fucked. And a couple of beers would make the world go away.

You can drink tomorrow. Don’t drink today.

if you think you need that drink, think first about all the shitty times alcohol caused. really want to go back there?
>I've been sober for a couple of months now.
you're doing great anon, be strong
call a friend or someone who will support you.

I don't drink, I have a couple of beers, I feel no different.

Is drinking supposed to be fun or what.

Go for a walk anon Look at the clouds or the trees or the street lamps. Take a deep breath. Say hi to a stranger on your way.

Don't drink.

That's the main reason. My gf is in passive-aggresive mode, my closest friend is out of the country and all I have left are few work buddies. I usually tend to do ok alone, but today is a day from hell.

The first step is to understand that they won't, and the world will still be there when you're done fucking yourself up. Stay strong, and go do pushups or something. There are very few things in your life you can control. This is one of them. Control yourself.

Day is just going to get worse if you have those beers. Also, join AA or something, they hook you up with a sponsor you can call in circumstances like these

This is a pretty solid advice. It helped. Thank you.

I tought about AA, but I don't feel very comfortable talking with strangers about my problems IRL. Plus I stutter which ironically was a large factor for my drinking habit.

You need to find something else to cheer you up, something to focus on. The worst thing you can do is let yourself get sad, bored, or lonely.

And of course you're right: some alcohol would make things better... for a couple of hours. But then you'd be back to drinking too much. You have good reasons for quitting, I'm sure. And you know how much harder it is to stop drinking than it is to keep being sober. So, don't just think about the next couple of hours: think about how much harder tomorrow will be if you drink now.

Our OP should be just fine with a couple of beers as a treat.

Good for you. I was at the pub earlier today and had four beers. I also had two yesterday and two the day before that. Two seems to be the sweet spot when the beer acts as a stimulant, but it barely lasts until I get home. Therefore, I'll be switching to actual stimulants in the near future.

>Two seems to be the sweet spot
We have a saying in our country:
>1(beer) is nothing
>2 are for the taste
>3 hit the spot
>4 open the evening
>if you drank 4, the 5th won't really matter that much

The biggest benefit of AA is not the quasi-religious stuff but having someone to call at moments like this to help you through the temptation.

Do you have a friend who will just sit with you and let you talk yourself out of drinking?

Why even drink if you have just two beers? That does nothing.

Two beers (50 ml of ethanol) on an empty stomach give me a light buzz, which is exactly what I'm looking for.
