Are parenting books a meme? Can anyone recommend anything worth reading for a first time father (to a daughter)? There are so many books to choose from that it's overwhelming.

You should read all them japanese anime porn books and fuck your daugher right in her (child) pussy!!!
No you won't find any advice less arsenine than this on this board, sorry 'non. From my experience it's best to ask a parent with tons of kids or someone you know, it comes with experience.

Juat copy what Chinese parents did in the 90s. Every 20-30 year old Chinese woman is an over achiever and outshine their male contemporaries

I got two kids so I feel ya, OP. I don't have parenting books, never been a self-help reader, but don't let yourself get overwhelmed. Your big goals should just be:

Be present
Control your temper, get space if you need it
Provide
Love
Model what a good man is

People do those things differently, but if you do it the rest falls in place. Good luck and congrats.

Is that the one where Abe hears voices telling him to sacrifice his first child, so he tied up his second one and then a goat told him no?

Abraham ties up Isaac, and then at the last second when he is about to plunge his dagger into Isaac’s heart, God tells him that this was only a test of faith, and not to kill his son.

Once Abraham frees Isaac, they find a ram entangled in the bushes and that ends up being the sacrifice instead.

The moral of the story is supposed to be about trusting in God, obeying him, and knowing that he will provide in the end. It is a very peculiar story for modern audiences however.
