If you have no work credits its more like $970.
I actually get almost 2000 but am trying to get an actual career and off it because it's so little.

if your "disability" occurred before age of 24 you only need 6 work credits as opposed to the 20 credits as full adult. Depending how much money you make during the 2 years of work will determine the benefit amount. Average is at least $1000 a month.
