Wagecuck SWE stuck in Portugal. Am I cooked?
26 y/o dev, 5 YOE (Angular, C# .NET, SQL). No uni degree, just a tech diploma. Stuck earning peanuts in a โ€œnice place to liveโ€ where I try to save every penny. Plus, no raise in sight. Living in my car is starting to sound like a plan.

Tried applying abroad (Germany and Switzerland), only got one interview and flopped. No friends/family holding me back. I wanna move out, earn more, live better.. Just idk what am I doing wrong.

Is it worth grinding a degree now or just keep applying + grinding interview questions/leetcode and learning German? Or should I wait or give up since my job is stable enough for now from AI and enough to survive?

Studying isn't always a bad idea

But you really shouldn't force yourself to "starve"

>goymany
Wasn't my first option. Was thinking on working there for a while until I could speak decent German and then go to Switzerland. At least stay there until having some decent savings.
And "go back" where?

I'm not really "starving". But I don't have any support besides myself. And feels like I have to make more money

just do leetcode. Be well prepared before the interview so you dont fail any interview like some cuck. Delay the interview until you are prepared

why do you want to go to goymany. Dont like England? Dont bother with a degree, just do leetcode since you have experience already

Thanks, I'll keep grinding then.
>why do you want to go to goymany. Dont like England?
I did consider England and Norway as well. But I believe being in Germany for a while would help me then relocate to Switzerland as a much stronger candidate than now.

There's a lot of cope in that pic.
>Serf didn't know how long he's supposed to work for because he's essentially running his own business fighting for survival
>He'll work for as long as he needs to make sure his family and community had the food and goods they need, definitely more than 20 hours a week, and it was often intense physical labor
>Didn't die at the "ripe old age of 60" but rather could die at any moment from a fucking splinter or slipping on a smooth rock while crossing a river or just from catching a cold

Meanwhile wagecuck:
>Can move to a high trust society country such as the Netherlands where I live or Denmark
>Doesn't need "consumer goods" to live, it's a want
> For the bare necessities he can choose to pay more to buy high quality things
> Has to work 40 hours but can leave work at work and build a healthy separation between that and his personal life

Anyway whoever made that pic was coping hard and I'm sorry that they are going through whatever they are going through, but it's a lot of lies.

I lived and grew up in shithole Israel. I decided I don't want to suffer anymore, I moved to the Netherlands. Life here is as fantastic as it can get. High trust society that handles it's Muslims much better than it's neighbors, people who aren't afraid to speak up and wake up. Everyone takes accountability for each other, and work/school/institution environments are egalitarian and flat, with people not seeking to flex their muscles over you with authority at the smallest bit of authority they get. You can directly go to the boss and talk to him.

So yeah, do what I did and move to a high trust society country is my advice OP!! Don't make the mistake of going to Germany, they are a highly beurocratic, sad government with a lot of strict , sad people.

I heard it was a massively time consuming job though? And we're far more advanced nowadays?
