Car Advice
I have an order in for a BMW M8. I'm having second thoughts because of depreciation. I don't mind some (40% over 3-5 years is normal) but this is a bit much. Also, I'm in a price range where I could potentially get something with residual value. The problem with that is this has to be my daily; I don't want more than one vehicle.

If you had 180k to spend on a car what would you get, and why? Please no advice about "just invest it" I have those bases covered. If I don't spend this money on a car then I'm going to set it on fire in my driveway, figuratively speaking.

I've considered just about every other v8 performance sedan on the market, and the like the M8 the most. Well, I liked the Panamera Turbo E hybrid the most, but it's much more expensive and is a hybrid so will depreciate even worse than the BMW. I want the ultimate GT car, but I can't afford a Bentley.

All advice would be welcome, thank you.

You should not buy something to worry about unpredictable later value. The dollar is in a free fall and the value of the car may relatively go up. Unless you can write it off as a business expense in which case you profit from that loss, and should. It has to weigh a certain amount, like a suburban. Bigass trucks are what luxury vehicles used to be and last forever maintaining value. Why not go to >>>/o/ ? Half of /adv/ can’t drive.

I won't read status-obsessed fuckwit threads.

If you really need German, and you really need to spend $180k, just but any manual 911, depreciation isn't so bad with Porsche, some even appreciate if you can get your hands on a GT3 RS.

I myself would buy a Cayman GT4 RS.

Otherwise, I'm a Corvette guy, and you can get A LOT of car for very cheap if you're in the US.

I wouldn’t buy a car. Especially a BMW. Only buy nice sports cars if you can a)fix them yourself or b)have piles of cash to give to a proper mechanic.

GT3RS rides like a shopping cart. I want a vehicle that's actually comfortable.

If you think BMW is a status symbol I've got some bad news for you

Why wouldn't you buy a car?
