How much eye contact is too much ? Eye contact basics please
How much eye contact do you make ? I have always found eye contact to be awkward and I am not sure why. Am I the only one who thinks this ? If any "social butterflies" or knowledgeable people want to give me tips that would be greatly appreciated.

70/30 rule approx. 70% of the time you should be maintaining eye contact, 30% of the time looking away. Don't be so rigid and strict with the timing, it should feel natural. Look, listen to what they're saying, look away. Easy.

You're autistic. You may find it easier to look at their forehead or nose instead.

But then they'll think there's something wrong in the spot you're staring at and getting self concsious

It's very hard to answer that mathematically. To put it rather vaguely, you want to be looking but not staring. Part of that is that your face needs to be doing other things besides looking. If someone is talking to you, you should be looking at them while they're speaking; but if you just give them a blank stare, that's weird; you need to be smiling, frowning, looking sympathetic, saying "ah!" and "oh, really?" etc.

You're welcome. Also keep in mind the eye contact isn't just a blank unmoving stare at one point; look/move at their eyes for the most part.

You literally are. Not being comfortable with making eye contact is one of the most definitive autism symptoms. And asking how much eye contact you should make is a very autistic question. For someone who is not autistic, eye contact is instinctive; they don't need to think about how much they're doing.

Honestly, from more than three feet away, you can't tell if someone is looking at your eyes or your forehead.

I won't read is this normal threads. They are always posted by formulaic, autistic, subhuman morons who need a guidebook for wiping their ass.
