Should i tell my gf im about to go to jail?

I dropped out of my study, im about to quit my job a week before the court.

I have made plans to move out

I love her more than anything and i dont want to hurt her or see her disappointed in me.

The charges im not guilty of but because the police never collected evidence i cant refute the witness

No related history

But there's about 300? Messages on air bnb claiming to be me

I was found guilty already looked online and similiar sentences are 12 months + for first offenders

I agrued the metadata on airbnb would show its not me but it didnt matter.

Im after advice on my gf though. I dont know what to do with her.
I can't ghost her for a year without telling her

No doubt you should tell her. Disappearing on her will hurt a hell of a lot more than "I got found guilty for some white collar bullshit and might be going to prison."

Also I'm no legal expert but assuming you're not violent and the chances of reoffending are low you'll probably end up just serving a parole/suspended sentence period

It generally is a non violent crime but using a electronic device to harass is very often a prison stint here

Ive spent hundreds of hours reading case law on the subject

I guess i have no choice than to tell her but sooner or later i dont know. Id rather not face her

Tell her asap man. The sooner the better.
In that regard it's pretty clear cut.

So you're in trouble for harassing people on air bnb?
Where I'm from anything less than violence or drugs rarely results in actual prison time after the offender is granted bail.

I didnt do it the police refused to supoena the data and I was found guilty as a result of a witness who said it was me

Even if you didn't, in the eyes of the law you did.
We talking terroristic threats or humbugging for money?

>im going to jail for digital crimes i didn't commit
>should I tell my gf about it?

Where the hell do you live that you can be proven guilty to the point of incarceration based on the testimony of a single witness, when evidence could exist and the prosecution didn't secure it? If you're in the US, you need to appeal that shit ASAP. Also kick your lawyer in the dick for not getting the evidence that would prove it isn't you.

To answer you question, yes tell your girlfriend. Why is that even up for debate?

She IS going to notice when you're not around, isn't she?

And so you're planning to break up with her for no apparent reason?

Remember that if you're sentenced to 12 months you will probably only serve six and then be out on parole.

Something isn't adding up here. Either that witness has video footage of you harassing someone through Airbnb instant messages (lmao?) or you're not telling the whole story. Or you're poor and couldn't afford a lawyer and got fucked by the system, which maybe, but then you're a total and complete fucking retard, because going into debt for a lawyer is WAY, WAY, WAY better than a year in jail + conviction, and if what you're saying is true than proving your innocence would've been trivial.
