Get a job that forces you to talk to people. No matter what it pays. Then move up the ladder of jobs-that-make-you-talk-to-people until you either get a girlfriend or feel confident enough to get a different job, and a girlfriend. The job will be the number one way to develop your social skills, so pick wisely as it will do much for you in your life

i think what people are going to have to do is establish themselves as a regular person at some venue (and this will NOT be a fast process). because when myself, and everyone else i know, goes out to find other people to meet, there are so few people there that you can't make something happen if you tried. if people consistently see you somewhere, then the can count on you being there.

you're going to have to figure out strategies because smartphones have completely changed the game and we're in new territory now

you know, my brother was a super shy self-isolated retard in high school, then he got his first job working as a cashier at the pet store and it forced him to constantly interact with people in a low stakes environment. after a couple of months he came out of his shell in a big way and was able to deal with other people, make small talk, get along with coworkers and tell funny stories from the job all of a sudden. he worked there for a long time, it gave him the confidence to go to college. you have to go work at a pet store
