AI videos.
Is it illlegal if I make a video of someone generated by an AI model?
My current understanding of the law is that defamation and sex stuff is all no gos. However, since I suffer from paranoid delusions I should be able to create any video of an incident I want, right? I really believe in what I’m generating.
I think that this has the opportunity to get a little… crazy…

My friend generated a video of me marrying and Indian woman and a Jewish woman as a way to mock me. I think most algorithms have a problem with that, but it's easy to bypass it. I think it's a bit of a gray area, but don't post i online, unless you want to be sued. If you just want to mess with friends and family I don't think it would be a problem though, as long as both parties are ok with it.

Just don't publish them, go and have fun, there are millions of people doing the same as you. So it's really hard to do something about it.

What would I even be legally liable for?
I can say whatever I want about a public figure. I could draw images of them strung up and getting tortured in an attic and post them online if I wanted.
Is there a specific thing I could be civilly liable for? I am morally justified in what I’m doing. They are honestly welcome to challenge it in court.m, though.

No, they are going online and probably to every news outlet.
Unless there’s a law against it that I can find.

As I said, it's a gray area, it's up to the judge. If you use it to damage someone's image or hurt their reputation, this would be very bad for you. But if you use in a harmless way like dancing while using the face of Leo di Caprio for example, it wouldn't be bad, but he could kind of say it's copyrighted

Why? Her soul needs a refresh. It is losing hope, and this will help. Even the afterlife can’t keep her safe.

Depends where you live (country/state) and what you're doing with the video.

Pretty much nowhere globally has laws against AI videos (currently), but read up on your local laws (state and federal) to see. This will likely change in time.

If you're trying to break another law with your AI video (e,g. use this video of another person's likeness to steal their identity, slander them, etc) that is likely illegal. If it is just for artistic, scientific, critical/parody/review purposes or similar "fair use", then that is probably illegal. If you live in a shithole like much of Africa or China where 'all' pornography is illegal and you're making porn, then obviously that is illegal.

*Typo. Legal not "illegal", obviously. https://www.copyright.gov/fair-use/
