I did not have a dad but my grand/mom always asked why I don't have a gf. I answered that "From my side I do as I can but you know even if I'm an engineer student solving hard problems daily, somehow I cannot make a couple by myself" or just short "My 50% is here but I cannot put her 50 too" After a while they stopped asking probably thought I'm gay (there is one in the great family so they familiar with the topic). They did not say a word but I saw the relief when I came home witha girl at 24 first.
