Don't know what to do
>28 y/o
>very little experience beyond retail shit and delivery driver
>consider getting into a trade
>my ADHD puts a hard cap on technical information that I can retain
>thinking about dropping out of my machinist class because I can't read blueprints or figure out missing dimensions

What should I do? This shit is way beyond what I can understand. Any jobs that I can get into that don't require math beyond +/-/รท/x? Or any math at all? I can do physical labor, but fuck doing that until your body breaks at 40. I'm in southern California. I see a lot of guys getting into observe and report security jobs. They seem to have very little requirements.

Also yes, I am a fucking loser. Hence why this thread was made. I'm just really frustrated with myself for being unable to concentrate on topics at hand. I need some advice anons. Should I just stop torturing myself and settle for a different line of work?

If you're looking into security anyway, and you have driving experience, why not do some research on becoming an armored car guard? Might be a little more fun than being a mall cop. Sock money away/invest. In your free time use chat gpt to learn the technical stuff you want to know.

Can't carry a gun for another few months. Suicide attempt got me on a 72 hour hold 5 years ago.

I guess my main problem is I'm just angry at myself for being to retarded to understand course materials despite finally mustering the motivation and drive to go to school. I feel like a massive disappointment to my family and to myself. Maybe I'm just setting the bar too high?

Regardless of whether you finish this trade school or not, don't think this way. You're not even 30 yet, and in the current year your experience isn't uncommon. If you really can't do the course material, look into other trades or lines of work like you said. I still think learning how to be smart with money and self improvement will make you think better of yourself.

Has your family said anything to make you feel like they would be disappointed or are you just assuming?

No. They're the types that want me to be happy and well-off but not really setting expectations beyond that. I'm beyond the age of shamelessness though, and I'm mostly just disappointed at myself.

Thanks anon. I'm going to see if this next week of material stick in my brain. If it doesn't, I'm kicking rocks and doing something else.
