>be me
>been playing basketball with friends for some time now
>always have trouble playing with folks outside my circle of friends cause I have no confidence whatsoever
>decided to hit a court alone to see if I can play
> they're playing 3 on 3 on one side of the court
> giant black folks that will probably destroy me
>kids playing 3 on 3 on the other side
>sperg out and dont ask to play in either side
>start practising shooting alone, will play with friends on weekend
I know the worst answer I can get is a no but I'm still horrified of rejection. I'm not even completely awful at ball, I'm just not as good as these naturally talented folks. These keeps happening to me where I just take the easy path (even in other aspects of life) instead of taking a risk and it's killing me. I don't know if I'll ever change and I feel like I'm going nuts. How do people break this cycle of always choosing the easy way?
