>planning on going to Japan
>decide to get into a trade while talking with a friend about electrician work
>will start it next year when I am more settled in
>dad said he will help with the college costs

I hope everything works out but man shits fucked and while I have the basic necessities right now I hope I can get into the trades cuz I heard its hard to get into that too now.

Any advice is appreciated.

Volunteer for something related, explain why you want the experience. If you can't get anything related, volunteer for anything construction related at all. Talk to everyone you can about their work and where they learned who they worked for etc. Show genuine interest and it'll be more likely reciprocated because they are getting a lot of plebs who don't know their ass from their elbow. Anyone who's smart enough to know not to light a cigarette near a gas leak is appreciated.
