How honest should I be when breaking up with a woman? I don't hate her and I wish her the best, but I really only kept this whole thing going because until now I was too much of a pussy to break up. I never actually wanted to marry her and I never really loved her, I just pretended that I did out of a sense of obligation and guilt really. I've been basically putting on a fake persona for the past year and it's taking a toll on me, can't really do this shit anymore.
Some people told me telling her all that would be too cruel. But I don't really see what else I could tell her.

Sex is not equal to love and if you need a guilt trip someone into fucking that's not advice on how to love more. It just comes across as a threat that if you don't have sex then you abandon the person.

If there's an absence of sex it just shows that there is no love anymore. Sex comes from being in love.

You failed to define anything meaningful in your relationship, and got with her for negative emotions or shallow reasons.
Before you break up with her, I recommend you at least give it a chance to define what you both want out of life and see if you are aligned on principles. At least then, if you do end up breaking up with her, you will have a genuine reason to end the relationship, along a more mature basis.

You never changed your mind about something? With relationships it's much worse because when you realize you're not acually feeling it, there is still the other person who might be VERY invested in it, which makes it very difficult to tell them when you know it's going to destroy their world and you're going to have to potentially deal with massive amounts of crying, begging, having to take their stuff back to their place, etc. I don't think this is exclusively a male thing.
