Very simple. How do I change gfs fashion taste/preference, also how to influence her to wear makeup, or at least try it occasionally? She looks good without, but it's one of those I would like to see her try now and then.

Things I have tried:
Hinting by talking about fashion to each other
Exchanging taste, asking if she has a preferred style for guys
Offering to buy her stuff to try and help her

The result was her saying she can't figure out how to wear it and saying she doesn't feel pretty (although I compliment her nearly daily about stuff/outfits I like)

The fact you're trying to change her is pretty shitty. Ofc it's great for you both to try new things and show each other interesting shit you find. Just don't be the type of person who wants them to fit a mold.
Be patient and have an empathic approach. Make sure it's genuine, because most people (besides absolute morons) can see through it. (But most people are fucking morons so IDK). lul.
She seems to have a low self esteem and is self conscious. Take "baby steps". If she's interested in trying out makeup, just start with eyeliner and/or cover up at bare minimum. They're simple and to the point. A no brainer. If she's interested in trying something else out, encourage her to go with whatever makes her happy. Optionally, you could also watch makeup tutorials, and research ingredients in each type and brand, which are more or less effective according to what you're both looking for.
