You can do an integrity check within the program which compares hash marks of the files bits in transfer.
Also, torrents don't matter if you force close them. I would be worried about losing power several times though, you can lose data that way and damage hardware too so don't pull the literal plug on your machine too often ;) Force closing a torrent in transfer will only lose the last small data chunks in transit at that specific moment and nothing else. All files downloaded and saved to the drive will be fine. Most of the parts of the files in transfer too. It is possible to lose some small data chunks, but once you do the force recheck, it will automatically sort itself out and re-download those small chunks to complete a file in transfer. That's the magic of torrenting.
