YouTube
I know this gets asked a lot but I could actually use some help on this.
I am about to start up a professional channel, I have all the resources and connections to jump into it and have a decent start. So it's not a total shot in the dark... Still I know chance its never a sure thing it will catch on.
What can I do to help insure it is a little successful and maybe makes part time money?
For context it's a subject matter expertise channel with entertainment elements. Think hobby channel with some real resources behind it.

What kind of guarantee do you want? You are entering the internet, a free market. If you are good and the wheel of fortune turns your way, you could become a multi-millionaire. But there are no safe bets.
Just try, if you feel that people will watch your shit.

Kind of the point I am at, I realize genuine content can still do well and it's not just a formula. All I am trying to figure out what sort of unknown unknowns I might face.

Ok, I came accross the buzzword of SEO pushing. Basically pay to get exposure. Maybe that will get you ahead, but I don't know mich about it. Maybe it will be helpfull, to expand your reach by being present on multiple platforms. I'm talking about short, provocative cutouts of your videos on insta, that will get people interested in your content and lead them to your channel or something.

I am sort of social media retarded but I think that is a good idea. If it is buzz words and seo than I am screwed lol, well we are even if we have all the other skills.

YouTuber here. Good content and consistency. There's really no way to tell which video or which piece of content will go viral or hit the algorithm. Find a niche, make the content, make sure its polished and edited and looks pleasant to watch. Keep making it. Don't stop. Even if your videos get no views at first. That's about it.
