Any veteran dashers here?
How hard would it be to do DoorDash on a scooter (22 mph)? What are my chances of getting robbed by some hooligan? Wanna make some extra cash while going to college.

i door dash. you would probably be better off using a car, though. as door dash can sometimes send you pretty far out, and 22mph isn't fast enough to meet the "on time" limit. being excessively late can be a contract violation and will get you removed. i can barely meet the "on time" goal in a car, can't imagine doing it in a 22 mph limit scooter.

depending on how much you plan on doing it, you'd want to get a high rating. your lateness counts towards your overall rating and with a low rating you'll only get shit offers that are $2 no tips that the premium dashers didn't accept.

your chances of being robbed might be higher if you accept cash offers and carry cash on you to make change. someone also might try to steal the food right off your bike if you are delivering multiple orders and leave one on the bike to go deliver the other. they could also just hide someone and steal the food off someone's door and if the customer reports it as "not delivered" it hurts your rating. too many of those and your account gets deactivated.

honestly, the amount of time you might be investing just to make any half decent money as a rookie trying to build your rating before door dash gives you high paying orders is probably better spent at a part time job without all the variables.

Dont. Almost all of the busiest areas are in very very bad locations of the city I am in. I assume its the same elsewhere. I have a smaller sedan and I dont even feel safe in many of these areas, and door dash requires me to sometimes drive for 30+ minutes to and from drop off locations (I know this is very abnormal for most dashers, but I exclusively dash by time)

If you're using a scooter you're going to probably lose money relative to working almost any other job.
