I have extreme anxiety at night from CPSTD and can't ever fall asleep because of it, what do I do? I go to bed when there's 10 hours until my alarm goes off but I only ever get 2-3 hours of sleep. It's killing me, I can't get anything done during the day because I'm so tired. please hlep

Have you tried taking a sleep aid like melatonin before? Do you try to sleep with background noise like a sound machine or the tv? You can also try a weighted blanket and/or sleep mask to help relax you. If you’re not exercising during the day it would be beneficial to try that as well.

There isn't one answer, you're going to have to make peace with the past and accept that all the traumatic shit is over. Now that you're an adult you are completely and totally in control of what happens in your life and you have to find a healthy way to move on.

forgot to read the rest.. i do everything right during the day (going for a long walk, eating right, bedtime routine, etc.). I sleep with relaxing music and rain sfx machine. nothing seems to change anything. I'll have to look into a weighted blanket because I haven't tried that.

You might need a Xanax prescription then or a Ketamine infusion. Wouldn’t hurt to see a psychiatrist and see what they recommend.

It’s not like I’m saying go buy them off the street. Those are both supervised by a professional. My mom is prescribed Xanax to sleep. She doesn’t take it every night but when she’s having a bad anxiety flare up it really helps her. My best friend also did a clinical Ketamine Infusion and it helped her cope with seeing her aunt get shot in the face when she was child. It’s not for everyone though, that’s why I said see what a doctor recommends.

doesn't matter. i got medicated 8 years ago for PTSD symptoms and im still recovering from how fucked up it made me. im pretty much back where i started because they gave me no real help other than the meds. medication should always be a last resort

My grandfather would take calls at 3am on the weekends to help his patients. I’m sorry you’ve had bad experiences but there are still good ones out there.

My mom has extreme ptsd and has had good experience the last few years with hypnosis audios and vagus nerve electrostimulation to sleep through the night

it's silly since you have actual problems, but I figured out that for me to sleep I have to lie for 30 min or so then turn around so my head lies where my feet were, this knocks me out in 10 min

>Similar problem
Heavy exercise to the point of exhaustion.

Added plus is getting fitter.
