How can accept myself?
As a kid I always had this interest in monsters and the spooky. For better or for worse the people that I've met with the same interests were people who had some sort of trauma and unhealthy outlook in life (as I did, later on)

I want to become a better person but I also think this is a part of me that I need to accept

Can you expand? Im morbid and love weird and spooky things, but have a general positive outlook on life. I never felt acknowledging the darker parts of it detracted from the Light. Can't deny the trauma part, I dont like to wallow in it though.

they are intertwined. you've already seen how horrible real life can be, so of course fictional stories and monsters are more interesting than scary.

What is there to not accept? The other people with those interests are weird, not you. You're just a person who likes /x/ content

How do you get a girl like this?

You got to in a way allow yourself to be broken when trying things.

Well I think watching slasher movies or other horror movies had my interest at first but at some point it got mixed with my trauma and hatred since I realized I related to the characters so I had to dwell in that before my identity got connected to them during my teenage years. At first I was into vampires, werewolves etc but as a teenager I got more into slasher movies

And now I'm trying to find some balance, if I heal from my trauma, will I stop being into the spooky or will I still be into it but under a different light?

What's your relationship with horror and the darker aspects of life now?

I just enjoy it, I accept that life has darker parts to it and so do people. I choose to try and live in the lighter parts and just have the horror be entertainment and a type of memento mori.

different interest, but same social dynamic in my case. Only i didn't have their trauma or outlook, so my problem ends up being different.

just try your best to keep healthy divisions
