I have a supper cute bartender I'd like to ask out. We get along well end up talking like friends not just regular bartender chat.
I don't want to take someone being polite as part of customer service the wrong way, but I think I really should ask her and she might be waiting on it at this point.

Perhaps directly, but properly.

It may also be good to remember that asking itself is separately different from result. You win instantaneously with almost no prerequisite with the goal being the earlier, but the latter is subordinate to what you may not control such as that the every single detail of the instances may align perfectly to favor you but still you may not be accommodated, as similar as the conditions at hand may be far from great and even dreadful, but despite it, may still be accepted.

I had a crush on a bartender last year. I saw her every week for like 6 months, we talked a lot and were flirty with each other, played cards together, talked about visiting different countries together. I always tried to play it cool and never asked her out or got her number, just "see you next week". Then I had to go out of town for a few weeks. Before I left I gave her a present, told her I would see her when I got back, and she said she would be there. Came back into town a few weeks later and I went to the bar to see her, but she wasnt there. Went back the next week, still not there. Went back one more time and still didnt see her, so I asked her coworker what nights she switched to. They told me she quit. Dunno why, never found out. I still regret not getting her number or anything. Wish I had better advice to help you succeed OP but all I have to offer is what not to do. I would just say if you like her and you wanna ask her out, don't miss your chance, people dont wait around forever.
