How to know if I should try doing exercise?
I can't do even a single proper pushup at all. None. Nothing.
I'm done with this shit, day one is last one.
I hate this app and I hate this human body.

5'9, 70kg, 24 years old.

How to know if I should try doing exercise? Maybe my body wasnt meant for it?

I've been and I mean this a shut in/hiki, I havent done any exercise in years and never in a serious amount, I dislike it, hate it. No sports growing up either, I spend what, 14 to 16 hours a day in my computer...for years now.

I tried those shitty apps to start doing exercise (I would never ever use a gym as I dislike being around people or even talking to them) and sure I had a routine...today was day one and I'm considering uhhh giving up.

Push ups only today...I couldn't do them. At best I did like 1 or 3 with some maybe ok form but in the likely worst case scenario I didnt even do one properly out of some sets and just wasted time looking like a tool.

I just can't do push ups, I've never been able to do them. Should I give up? I've heard online that others in my situation, low activity and similar weight or level were able to do them, maybe a CT scan for muscles, maybe my muscles and body werent born to exercise. Am I too old now? Surely my muscles have deteriorated over 24 years so low return if i actually try now?

Do knee pushups until you can reliably do 10 regular pushups in a row, then switch back to regular pushups, it'll probably take a few weeks to a month to get to that point, only as long as if you stick with a routine. Get adequate protein intake, adequate sleep, and start taking 5g of creatine a day and you will see improvements within the month anon. After you establish a good baseline you can either can start calisthenics or go to a gym to start weight training.

there is no question. if you don't want to be crippled by pain by the time you're 50 you have to exercise. that's what your body is designed to do. evolution doesn't happen over a span of 200 years in which it has become possible to survive while being sedentary.
It's okay to start off just lifting cans of beans or something, as long as you make progress. I was a skinnyfat dyel all through high school and felt like shit snd got no bitches

Not OP but there is a way to get fat? I lose weight and now went from 40 kg to 37 kg. I also tried exercising some time ago but ended up puking blood and gave up on that, so now I am looking for any way to gain weight without lifting

Just start, today...walk briskly for 10 solid minutes. Set a timer on your phone. Not running, but walk as fast as you can without running - I call it rage walking. Now that you've walked fast for 10 minutes in one direction, you now have to get back to where you started. So, you can either walk slowly back or rage walk again another 10 minutes. Guess what? You just walked for 20 minutes and you did MORE than you did yesterday. You will now have a dopamine rush and you'll sleep better. Do this everyday for 2 months. You will now have formed a habit. After 2 months, bump your distance to 15 minutes one way, 15 minutes return. Increase it accordingly to your schedule and fitness level. Watch your body fat drop. Watch your beltline too, you'll have to drill another hole in your belt eventually. Your confidence will rise and you'll look forward to doing it. It's your happy place where no one can fuck with you and tell you not to do it.

You can do ladies push-ups or wall push ups standing up. Since you have no upper body strength, this will help you build some. No one is watching so no judgement. But you have to start somewhere. Wall pushups are good for those with fucked backs or other body issues. If you want more of a challenge with them then put on a backpack with books or something heavy inside. Thing is you have to barter with yourself...say you can only watch TV today if you do 50 wall pushups. Then stick to your proposition. 50 wall pushups is easy since they're not as full body weight as real push ups are so don't get too excited about numbers. But keep track of how many you do. Tomorrow add one more, repeat. Soon you'll be blasting them out and you'll have a log of how many you've done to make yourself feel good at your achievements. The key is just starting...that's the hardest part of change - taking the first step.

Push ups are hard, anon.
Stage 1: lean against wall with hands at a slight angle. Push away from the wall. Repeat.
Stage 2: girly push up on floor, but knees stay in contact.
Stage 3: up with the knees, whole body weight on the arms.

You might need a trainer to tell you these kinds of tricks. Also, you can build arm strength with curls and some barbell free weights.

if you are so out of shape you aren't sure you should be doing exercise, maybe you need to start gently with just swimming, or walking your neighborhood.

Push up is not that easy. Especially a proper one. Even worse when you're older and out-of-shape.
Imo there are hurdles for normal people to do push up:
- people can't hold a plank, both at top and low position of push up
- wrist, shoulder and other joints are not strong and flexible enough to comfortably do push up
- wall -> knee -> push up progression involve huge jumps in difficulty imo, and honestly incline push up using chair, table, etc. is a bit unsafe
- chest press machine and dumbell and similar exercises don't translate easily to push up
- a lot of activation talk, engage this and that muscle, keep your shoulder down, palm outward etc. sound like nonsense

I personally feel knuckle push-ups are easier for my wrist.

unless you are like a 145cm chinese girl you are probably at death's door anon. i suggest you visit the hospital at your earliest convenience.

most people aren't taught about exercising correctly. they are forced in school to run until they throw up which is not what exercise should be about. Start with the activity level you are comfortable with and gradually build up once it becomes too easy. If you don't have the upper body and core strength for push ups, try doing them against a wall first, then do them on the ground with your knees

Check this guy out.
He basically gives baby-mode training wheel options for all his suggestions and goes about ways of trying to ease even people who have been sedentary for ages into getting healthier.
No gym or equipment required. Even shit like "wall pushups" which are a good way to get started, and how I started
>Maybe my body wasnt meant for it?
Unless you have some weird glass bones and paper skin birth defects, you're body would be fine. It'll just take some time to get used to since you've been Vitamin D deficient for years and hunched over a computer screen.

You can jump up and down pretending to be doing a skipping rope. If you can jump up and down for 5 minutes straight, I'd be surprised and give you a high five. It's not easy. So just do it for 1 minute, set a timer so no cheating. Eventually work your way up to 2 minutes and increase to 5 mins.

Maybe one day you can actually get a real skipping rope (the good kind from a sporting good store, not a kids one) and learn to actually do it. It's not bullshit or gay...it's what boxers do and those in the fighting genre. It's actually one of the fastest ways to get fit in the shortest amount of time. Look into it more on YouTube, I'm not kidding...it is a very good workout. Cardio, legs, coordination, balance, etc. Try it.
