The benefit is not being seen as a porn addicted cumbrain, and pride in the fact you have the temperance to have impulse control, fren. Nobody wants to be around that, they're seen as the weak willed and just disgusting.

That's the real issue. Do less sitting around, and more doing things. Action is what the mind craves. You sat around idly and your mind craved action, that's why it chose gooning. And you got stuck because gooning and being porn-sick is a false existence, a dead end. You reversed course and walked away from the dead end. That's good. But never forget you cannot stand in place and do nothing either, because that was the situation that porn had infected in the first place.

Porn is an infection that enters open wounds. You cleaned off the infection, that is good. But don't stop there, close the wound. Fill the empty void with something that puts porn out of a job in your life. Pick up a job, a skill, a hobby, a craft, a vocation, a creed, anything that can keep you busy.

The benefit is more time. Some people are quick with it but they're usually getting stuff done in their life so it doesn't matter. If you're lazy and have nothing going on then I think it's inevitable you end up a gooner. I also sleep better if I don't jerk off before bed. If I do there is a good chance I wake up in the middle of the night.
