how do i get a better job?
ive been working at an amazon warehouse for about 2.5 months now (i was a neet for 6 years, and nothing else near me hires). its sucking my soul, its so monotonous, i dont get along with any of my coworkers because theyre all illegal immigrants, and theres no opportunity to move up.

i dont even get treated as a regular employee, since im hired on as "temporary" and can be laid off at any time. it fucking sucks.

so how do i get a job that doesnt feel so soulsucking and meaningless? i dont have a car and i only have 3500 dollars in savings since my father is a neet bum and i have to buy food and pay all the bills

So you can speak English better than your colleagues, but what other hard skills do you have that they don't?

They likely weren't neets for 6 years like you. That actually gives them an upper hand on you unless you prove yourself somehow.

It's a tough pill to swallow, but ask yourself if you even deserve a better job after a 6 year vacation. Yes, neetdom is a vacation, and now you're paying for it.

Start to appreciate your life, and the safe working conditions you DO have, and start self improving.

I have about 600 dollars in savings at 18 because I have this dogshit job that schedules me 10 hours a week. I was just in a dilemma whether i should cancel an amazon purchase of a USB port kit foe my motorbike which would actually be helpful not just a toy. You're doing a lot better than me

Be careful anon.
I know a woman who broke your wrist and had to have metal hardware installed.
Even after getting an attorney, she ended up receiving $1000 total for a lifetime injury.
Use them for the money, be extremely careful and move on.

Not at Amazon, no.
The reason all your coworkers are smelly illegals is because the higher paying jobs for English readers and writers won't hire illiterate illegals.
The job will be harder, but you'll get paid more.
I'd suggest going to smaller and smaller companies.
Get that forklift cert at a small mfgr
Then move down to 2 or 3 guy warehouse job where you'll have to do everything including shipping paperwork and maintenance so its not boring.
You got 2.5 months experience on your resume and you don't need a job which puts you ahead of the other applicants. Ten weeks may not do it, but who knows maybe 3 months would.
Small companies have ways to move up the food chain. "I've always wanted to learn how to fill out the customs clearing paperwork" or whatever.
Little companies need sane sober polite native English speakers; big companies not so much...
