Dentistry is a small world, and I’m under no illusion—my reputation has likely taken a serious hit. Fortunately, I am a self-funded retiree (haven't practiced since 2021), and I don't need to practice dentistry anymore. Still, it’s deeply disturbing that Victoria Police can so thoroughly damage someone’s reputation without a single charge being laid—just because they suspect you might be a danger to society (whatever that even means).

People should know this is how Victoria Police operate. Presumption of guilt, character assassination, and power-tripping seem to take precedence over actually solving real crimes. It is no surprise that Melbourne is turning into a crime riddled shithole.

So for now, I guess I should just shut up and enjoy my life in exile, but I don't think I should take this lying down. It’s outrageous that Victoria Police can spread their presumption of guilt and wrongdoing when I haven’t committed a single crime. If they can’t distinguish fiction from reality, then they need a fucking lobotomy.

Now that they fucked up my reputation among my peers, I am going to have a go at their reputation.

I will admit that I had Microsoft Co-Pilot edit my initial writing to condense it down, but it is made up at all.
There is a lot more to the story, and I made another thread (https://boards.4chan.org/adv/thread/33848767#p33848767).
I know it sounds incredible, and I have had plenty of accusations of making up the story to promote my book, but I didn't write the book hoping to generate sales.
It was a personal project. I just wanted to see if I could make something creative out of my shitty experience, and now that I learned how to edit and publish a literature, I plan on writing about other topics of my interest.
I actually want the police to put the charge through so as for me to be able to hire a lawyer and test their case in an open court for everyone to see just how corrupt up they are.
They won't and they can't because I am not being investigated for a crime and they have no credible evidence that I will commit crime in the future.
Well, in that case, I want to invite them to disclose to the public their claims about me and whatever they have to back up their claims.
If they don't have anything to charge me with in a criminal court, they should try my case in a court of public opinion and see what the public thinks about their claims and what they did to back them up.
I am not afraid of court of public opinion, but it is fucking low for the detectives to drag my name through the mud by spreading presumption of wrongdoing all based on their delusiona interpretation of my book.

You can make up your own mind about my situation. It doesn't bother me, and I posted here expecting to hear responses like yours, because not everyone should identify with my situation, especially if they don't live in Victoria.

In all seriousness, will all this will amount to nothing? I am not sure.
But I am sharing it hopes that it provides some value to peoples, especially those who live in Victoria.
I am not posting here hoping to settle score or win some kind of settlement. I'm not looking for pity or sympathy either.
What I experienced is ridiculously specific and unusual that it is impossible to explain it all without sounding like a shameless self-promotion, but the point is to highlight the damage Victoria Police can do to a person's livelihood using a loophole in the criminal justice system. That is the point I want to highlight on, rather that I suffered something unfair.
Again, if you don't live in Victoria, my story is inconsequential to you overall, so it cannot sound like anything other than a shameless self-promotion.
Even if I were to settle score or win some settlement from the police it is not going to undo what the police did, so they mean nothing to me.
The only other reasonable option is to try to prevent myself and others going through the same thing.
As for me, the police can't fuck up my reputation any worse so I am just taking the risk (of some kind of retaliation from them) to let people know about another corrupt way they operate.
Don't get me wrong, I am not anti-police in general like the BLM or Antifa.
Our state (Victoria) is going to the shitter with stabbings, shootings, burglary and theft, yet the police are focusing more on policing people's thoughts and investigating 'hate condut' and now crimes that exist fiction.

I wrote the book, so it all traces back to me. I brought the investigation upon myself, and that Isn't what I am pissed off about. I am pissed off at how the investigation was conducted in a dodgy way where I couldn't do anything while the detectives spread their presumption of wrongdoing to my professional network.
I knew at the time of publishing of the book that I will be questioned either by those who happen to read the book or by the authorities or perhaps even both, and I was always prepared to discuss and elaborate on the book to anyone who wanted to question me about it.
The way the detectives conducted their investigation put me in an untenable situation. Every law firm I called told me that there is nothing they can do to help me unless I am actually charged.
You think you will find it acceptable to hear that there is nothing you can do while the detectives go around spreading false allegations to your friends and coworkers that you are a threat to the public, all because you wrote a post threatening to assault me in public?

Why does it bother you so much to hear about my experience with the police anyway?
I am on your side. I want the police to focus on solving real crimes with real victims, especially when Melbourne is going to the shitters with stabbings, theft, and burgary. I heard there was even a shooting in the CBD recently too.
Instead, they are focusing more on investigating 'hate speech' and policing people's thoughts.
Every hour they spent investigating me was an hour not spent solving real crimes.

In any case, I learned the hard way that I ought to keep romance outside of my professional world.
It gets awkward as hell after a breakup and rumours and gossips spread very quickly.

You fucked up your own reputation writing some sort of joker-coded fantasy based on details of your own life, profession and city. I've gave your own blurb for it a read and feel well placed in assuming that this left people well placed reasons for concern.

This kind of deliberate blurring of reality whilst writing edgy "the man pushed too far and snapped" fiction is exactly the kind of stupid games / stupid prizes scenario where you should not be acting suprised about the reaction you got. I'm unable to assess the content of the book deeply because will I fuck be buying it just to write a critical 4chan response. But your blurb alludes to a "shorter and shorter fuse" which the language of a bomb going off, so I will assume you've written some things that might've been silly to base around your real life without expecting some alarm bells to go off.

If anything there is a rather poetic irony in all of this. This may well be the moment that pushes you too far - except it wasn't society that did it - it was yourself... by writing a book about a fantasy version of yourself that was.

On one level I feel sorry for you. This was probably a vicarious outlet for some pent up feelings that just needed some space to breathe. But on another I don't because anyone with even the slightest sense of self awareness would never pull a stunt as stupid as this.
