Going out for fun on your own
Are bars, pubs or lounges a decent place to socialize if you're on your own?

Depends on your own mindset and that of the people around you.
Do you feel comfortable there? Is this a place where people are ready to meet new people?
I find raves to be a good place to get to know new people, but if you are at a small organized rave in the outback, people might not be so open to get to know new people.

I honestly don't know where to go out and have a good time by myself and maybe meet new people.

I don't have one and that seems kind of expensive. I'll look into the rest except swimming because I'm self conscious about my body.

You are missing out on a perfect opportunity! Swimming is very inclusive, since anybody can swim. Sportsmen, old people, pregnant women, recovering from injuries, average joes, you will meet all of them there - no need to be self conscious about your body.
Fun fact: if you go swimming more or less regularily, after 1000 sessions the chance of being fit is 99%

more shooting ranges are enforcing no-singles policy as too many incels go there to suicide

I'm already working out, but I guess I'll consider it. `

I live in Canada anyway, so shooting ranges are probably rarer.

Same, I’d imagine the policy is more common here as I’m sure you are well aware this place is bleak and getting bleaker by the nanosecond

I live Quebec and recent news is pretty fucking concerning.

I live in Quebec, and the talk about separation is sort of concerning to me, but what's worse is that they're making easier for doctors to leave Quebec thanks to some new bill or something.
