What's wrong with socially interacting with someone to see if you're getting along? She wants someone who compliments her, he isn't that, and now she suspects they're incompatible. It is her explicitly giving you permission to flirt and communicate with her in a sexual way without it being weird. Presumably the goal is to have sex.
